Straight teeth, no braces
Invisible orthodontic treatment methods are growing in popularity and for good reason. Techniques, such as Invisalign, mean you can straighten your teeth and improve your smile without anyone knowing you’re having treatment.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign consists of a series of clear, plastic aligners which look like thin sports mouthguards. These are custom-made to your teeth and are virtually invisible. But, unlike traditional braces, which are fixed to the front surface of your teeth and require the use of metal brackets and wires, Invisalign aligners sit over the top of your teeth.
How effective are Invisalign aligners?
Invisalign is quickly becoming a treatment of choice for many patients for its range of benefits (see below), but also because it is an effective method for fixing both major and minor cases. The results are just as good, if not better, as those you can get from traditional metal braces.
How does Invisalign work?
If Invisalign treatment is right for you, we’ll begin by taking impressions of your teeth so we can get your aligners custom-made. Every two weeks you’ll need to change these aligners as each set works to gently guide your teeth into their correct position.
What are the main benefits of Invisalign?
- The aligners are custom-made to your teeth and your teeth only.
- The clear plastic is virtually invisible which makes Invisalign one of the most discreet treatment options available.
- The aligners are removable so you can take them out to eat, brush and floss or for important occasions such as business meetings or family weddings.
- Being able to brush and floss your teeth properly throughout Invisalign treatment makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene.
- Invisalign can get exceptional results, some of which can be seen in as little as three months.
Does Invisalign treatment hurt?
No, Invisalign treatment isn’t painful because the custom-made aligners work to gently move your teeth into the correct position. When you change your aligners you may experience slight discomfort as your teeth begin to readjust but this can be treated with over-the-counter pain killers.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
The full Invisalign treatment method can take between 12-18 months, but there are also fast treatment options which can take between three and six months.
How much does Invisalign cost?
We will be able to give you a quote for Invisalign treatment after your free consultation as we will then know the extent of treatment you require. Invisalign is slightly more expensive than traditional metal braces but we have payment plans available to help you with the cost.
